Police Story 2013 Update

The good news is that Police Story 2013 has distribution deals all over the Far and Middle East- Japan, India, Singapore, Turkey, Greece, Syprus, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong and Vietnam. The bad news is that there is no news of it being distributed in the UK or US yet.

The $30m film has gone to Japan (Happinet), India (Indo Overseas), Singapore (Clover Films/Golden Village), Turkey (Tanweer Films) and Middle East, Greece and Cyprus (Italia Film).

It has also sold out across South-East Asia with sales to Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos (Sahamongkolfilm), Malaysia and Brunei (Ram Entertainment) Indonesia (PT Prima Cinema Multimedia), Philippines (Suraya Filem) and Vietnam (Galaxy Films). Hong Kong-based Celestial Tiger has taken pay-TV rights for Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei.

Is it true that Jackie Chan has passed away or is that just a bad rumor that is going around??? I heard that he did and i wondering how true it is.?

No its not true. It's a complete hoax. IF Jackie (or any other celebrity) did pass away it would be in all the mainstream news, not with fake websites and unverifiable spam news attacks.

I really hate that his films take so long to be released in Europe...then we find out it's a dubbed cut up version with American music.

I had to get an all region DVD player just to watch Chinese Zodiac which I ordered from Hong Kong.

As far as I know, only New Police Story got a limited release in Cinemas in the UK back in 2006. Great looks like we will have to wait till 2015 Spring.

You really made me scare now when I read your comment !!!

No there isn't a new hoax, but remember there is the scam spam on FB that is going around repeating it. Then it goes around Twitter again. So that is probably what the person saw.

@Azizur Rahman

Your investment in an all region DVD won't be wasted, all the good movies are Region 3 (HK) or 6 (China) anyway :)

FYI you could have just looked up the code to remove the region block on your old player. It is not an infraction of copyright to do so.

So with this in mind and they wonder why piracy is so bad. If you don't release the film in the country - what do you expect.

There is still no excuse. You can buy so many movies legally online these days.

Yesterday I watched the dvd (official dvd release in europe) and the subtitles were good to read. I had seen the film before but with very small (and shown short) english/pinyin subtitles. This dvd had behind the scenes and a clip in which Jackie Chan tells about filming it. The best question of behind the scenes: why are we using real knifes? LOL With the previous dvd I had to concentrate on the subtitles so much that I missed a lot of the film. The slow version of Rescue in the film is very very beautiful and fits perfect. It's a brilliant film also a bit sad and yes Jackie Chan (again) plays a police officer but with a film like this... who cares. It's a good film with a story and he doesn't play 'just' an police officer but also a father, which at some points is quite prominent.
