TIFF Green Carpet with Jackie

Today Jackie made an appearance on the green carpet for the opening of TIFF accompanied by Makiko Esumi (in a kimono) and Shoko Nakagawa who were both voice artistes in the Japanese dub of '1911'. He said that although he had a very busy schedule he had to come. He also thanked his Japanese fans for supporting him over the years adding in English "You for me, me for you." He said that he was happy to see that Japan was recovering from the tsunami. He wished success for the film festival and thanked the organisers for inviting him.

Jackie Chan is known to support a lot of charity organizations. I'm not so sure if he does for the tsunami victims, but his presence and overall positive energy helps a lot to bolster the Japanese's spirit and morale.

My Reply:

Yes he has supported Japanese victims, not only with the recent disaster but many times in the past as well. He personally donated food and water immediately after the disaster and then played a significant part of a fundraising effort in Hong Kong for Japan.
