Dragon's beard candy (or Chinese cotton candy) is a handmade traditional art of Ancient China. It is also a traditional Chinese sweet similar to spun sugar, which can be found in many Chinese communities. Dragon's Beard Candy was initially created in China, but soon spread in popularity and became a regional delicacy in other parts of East Asia, as well as (and more recently) Canada, Singapore, the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan. Dragon's Beard Candy is a highly prized sweet within the Korean royal court as well.

Way Back in 1987 ...

On 14 March 1987 Jackie played in a celebrity soccer match in Japan. A celebrity team from Hong Kong played a friendly match against a Japanese team. Jackie in Japan for 1911 Press Conference.

Jackie at a press conference for '1911' in Japan today. '1911' is one of the two films opening the Tokyo International Film Festival. Shown handing Jackie a bouquet of roses to celebrate his 100th film is actress and voice artist Shoko Nakagawa who is in the Japanese dub of '1911'. Jackie mentioned that he was happy to be in Japan but could not come sooner as he has been very busy. More below in the article.

　会見の終盤には、映画の吹き替えを務めたタレントの中川翔子が花束を持って登場。ジャッキーの大ファンという中川は「いつまでも不老不死で、みんなの宝物でいてください。すべてを捧げてもいいほど大好きです」と興奮した様子で語りかけた。

　「１９１１」は１１月５日から全国で公開される。

Cheque Presentation for "Love Without Borders" Concert

Yesterday Jackie attended the cheque presentation ceremony for the "Love without Borders" Concert. Yesterday (May 3) Directors Guild of Hong Kong special briefings, and a 26.08 million check to the Salvation Army representative.
Jackie Chan, John Sham, Mr.Barry Wong, Andrew Lau, co-ordinate activities, community relations director for the Salvation Army and The Salvation Army commander Fusan Chuan Guo-Qing Wang, etc., attended the briefing, the present value of follow-up report on the situation.

Organisers Jackie Chan, Eric Tsang, and John Sham made the announcement today. 100 Artists recorded a theme song for the event called - "Do Not Give In To Heartache."

Jackie spoke saying that artists in Hong Kong know no borders. No matter where in the world a disaster occurs, the Hong Kong entertainment industry will unite to help people in the disaster areas. It's been confirmed that Hong Kong artists will hold a three-hour charity concert titled "311 Love beyond Borders" to raise funds for victims of Japan's massive earthquake and tsunami.

Veteran actor and variety show host Eric Tsang announced the concert date. "We have decided to hold a candlelight vigil on April 1 for the victims in Japan to express our voice and show support from Hong Kong residents and artists. Wish they will be fine."

As always, kung-fu superstar Jackie Chan will be heading the charity fundraiser. He said he had to do something to help.

"Mother nature is really powerful. I'm worried about the people in Japan. Tsunami hit after the earthquake, and now we know the nuclear crisis. Again, again and again, disasters struck. I called my office in Japan and they said they were fine but there were no biscuits or bottled waters in the supermarkets. They had nothing to eat."

Chan revealed that the theme song for the concert is called "Succumb Not to Sorrow". It is based on an inspirational Japanese poem, and it will be performed in both Chinese and Japanese.

The message of the song is clear and simple. "You will not be alone. We will all be by your side."

The earthquake in Japan was a devastating disaster and I want the Japanese people to know that my thoughts are with them. We all need to do everything we can to help and support the Red Cross and other relief organizations and to pray that the Japanese people will heal quickly from the emotional, physical, and economic devastation.

I have already begun to plan a special way to raise money for the Japanese people and will let you know what this is as soon as the details are arranged. For now, I encourage all my fans to pray for Japan and to support organizations such as the Red Cross.
