Bazaar Charity Auction 2012

The annual Bazaar Charity Auction night took place on 1 September 2012 in Beijing. More than 600 celebrities celebrated the tenth anniversary of this fundraising event. This year the public were also included in the fundraising through a series of mini online auctions held on Weibo over the course of the last month. In addition any guests at the auction who did not win any of the 21 items auctioned were invited to voluntarily donate 100 000 RMB at the end of the evening. The auction raised a record 46 million RMB, but with the online auctions and other donations the total raised was 101 million RMB in 24 days!

This years recipients are China Siyuan Engineering Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, The Children's Charity Video Project for Huayi Brothers Community Fund, The Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation Beijing "Treatment for Seriously Ill Children" project, and The Sweet Angel Fund Craniofacial Center Cleft Lip and Palate Treatment "project.

The item that generated the most interest on the evening was a collaborative art work titled 'An Idea' between Director Feng Xiaogang and Artist Zeng Fanzhi. It reached 17 million RMB. Jackie offered to create a similar collaborative work for next year's auction titled 'Devious Idea' "歪念".

Jackie donated 2 items for this year's auction. He donated a 1953 bottle of Maotai wine from his personal collection as well as a special calligraphy of 'Chinese Zodiac' along with the 12 sculpted heads made for the movie.
