Fans donate!

After seeing Jackie's donation to the victims of the Tianjin explosion fans from Malaysia and China collected slightly more than 1 million RMB and with the help of China Movie Report the money was given to Jackie yesterday.

Jackie had this to say:

Today I was really touched by fans who saw my donation message and actually collected about 1 million RMB and went through many hands to reach me through the movie channel, to help the family members of the firefighters who laid down their lives in the Tianjin explosion. I was able to inspire them to show compassion, you trust me so much, the "pressure" is really great. Together with your donations I must pass on your kind feelings to the people in need, everyone please supervise! Thank you for all the kindness.

Beijing Hyundai Donates Computers in Guizhou

I reported on this briefly previously but now while exploring all the links on the JC Auto Network pages I found THIS extensive coverage of the donations of computer equipment to Dragon's Heart Schools in Guizhou. Again there is far too much information to even attempt to reproduce it. Please follow the link (translated) and browse from there.

The View from Taiwan Blog

Here is a link to a blog written from Taiwan with many links about where and what to donate if you can.

THE VIEW FROM TAIWAN

Donations to Disaster Relief in Taiwan

The only branch of the Red Cross that I can find that is accepting donations SPECIFICALLY for Taiwan is the Hong Kong Branch:

HONG KONG RED CROSS DONATION INFORMATION FOR TAIWAN

To donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund:

AMERICAN RED CROSS

The International Red Cross also has a donation page:

IFRC

(again this is unspecified Disaster Relief Donations)

Donations can also be given to:

http://donate.worldvision.org

"The most pressing needs now are providing shelter, food, and clean water for those who have had to evacuate their homes," says Hank Du, executive director for World Vision in Taiwan. "We also want to make sure the children are secure and have a safe place where they are cared for."

While World Vision is working on distributing emergency supplies to victims, The Salvation Army in Taiwan is working with the country’s military in its rescue operation. It plans to help transport people and household goods back to villages once the crisis is over, provide medium-term shelter/housing and community buildings to victims, distribute disinfectant, water and other cleaning materials and equipment to affected villages in hard-hit Tainan County, and provide sleeping bags to the growing number of refugees in emergency shelters.
