All donations goes towards the six beneficaries: All Saints Home, Sian Chay Medical Institution, Singapore Power Heartware Fund (for elderly services under Community Chest), Singapore University of Technology and Design (Scholarship Programme), Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities and the VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer.

SINGAPORE: Singers Wakin Chau, Jonathan Lee and action star Jackie Chan will perform at the Love from the STARS charity gala dinner and concert on May 10 at Resorts World Sentosa. The trio agreed to perform at the event without charging any fees, it was announced in a media release on Friday (Feb 13).

The charity event aims to raise S$6 million, which will go to six beneficiaries - the All Saints Home, Sian Chay Medical Institution, Singapore Power Heartware Fund (for elderly services under Community Chest), Singapore University of Technology and Design (for its Scholarship Programme), Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities and the VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer - in celebration of Singapore’s 50th birthday.

Funds for Love from the STARS will be raised through cash donations, auctions and sale of banquet tables at the charity gala dinner and concert.

“Supporting charity is something dear to me. I’m happy to be part of Love from the STARS, as my gift to my friends in Singapore who are celebrating Singapore's Jubilee.” said Chan in the media release.

“There is a great spirit of giving and sharing among the people of Singapore. When there is a call for help, they always respond generously,” said Chau “This is a meaningful and unique collaboration. I am excited to be part of it, and to celebrate this special year with Singaporeans.”

“When Jackie and Wakin informed me about Love from the STARS, I immediately
wanted to be involved. Jackie, Wakin and I have been good friends for many years,
and we always treasure the chance to perform for a good cause. We will put up a good
show for Singapore!” added Lee.

当各路名人出现在现场的红地毯上时，媒体记者们统统hold不住了，纷纷举起手中的镜头对准他们。如此豪华的影星名人阵容瞬间谋杀了不少相机的菲林。

大项目的号召力可窥一斑！

记者从签约仪式上了解到，英皇影视文化村项目总建筑面积预计超过60万平方米，位置拟选定于“创意西溪”的重点发展片区——西溪科技岛。

该岛是中国唯一的城市湿地、生态、人文、科技、艺术综合体，融合办公、科研、教育、旅游、居住等城市多元文化，毗邻杭州西溪国家湿地公园西区。

地理人文环境如此优越的好地方，被正在积极开拓大陆市场的香港英皇集团相中，集团主席杨受成连连送上赞叹并表示要倾全力经营打造好这个项目。

据了解，英皇影视文化村项目自2010年开始筹备，在2010年底余杭—香港招商活动中与余杭区政府达成相关共识。今天，该项目终于得到签约双方的一致拍板。

英皇影视文化村项目建设内容包括英皇影视学院、影视制作中心、会议演艺中心，以及可以提供2200套客房的度假村等。

英皇影视学院拟打造成一个以电影电视、广播、戏剧、音乐人才为主要培养方向的全日制本专科高等院校，兼有部分重点专业的硕士研究生教育、非学历教育和继续教育、职业培训和短训职能，将邀请成龙、姜文、刘德华、张艺谋、尔冬升、陈木胜、金培达、王晶、唐季礼、陈嘉上、刘镇伟、詹瑞文、陈庆嘉、钟景辉等中国著名电影人长期担任教席。

影视制作中心则要被打造成中国规模最大、技术最先进的专业影视后期制作基地，为影视项目提供全套后期制作，并为海外项目提供远程分包服务。

项目建成后，英皇将借助自身在国内甚至国际影视娱乐业的影响力，邀请国际国内文化名人、知名导演、演艺明星的加盟，创作影视精品，形成影视产业的剧本写作、编剧、拍摄、制作、发行等完整产业链，打造特色影视中心。

党的十七届五中全会明确指出要推动文化产业成为国民经济支柱性产业。随着杭州市打造“全国文化创意中心”的部署由地方性战略升级为国家战略，颇具创新意识的余杭区乘势出击，把文创产业作为促进经济转型、打造“文化名区”的强劲引擎，引进大项目、大企业，提升文创产业的整体氛围。

Jackie Chan stars in Emperor's movie resort

Emperor Group, the Hong Kong-based conglomerate, plans to open the Emperor Movie Cultural Resort in Hangzhou within five to six years.

The 5 billion yuan facility aims to train senior movie professionals and provide high-end movie production services. Tourists will also be able to experience the movie-making process when visiting.

Emperor Entertainment may also develop the resort into a conference centre capable of holding large-scale celebratory events.

The whole project involves Emperor Film-TV College, a movie theme park, movie-making centre, a 2,000-person capacity exhibition hall and resort hotel. The group also hopes to boost the development of a China film and TV programme copyright market.

"Emperor made a significant decision," said group chairman Albert Yeung Sau-shing. "We have been doing business here for more than 20 years. Hangzhou is the best place to invest in terms of cultural business."

Yeung says the reason why he is so confident is that Hollywood action star Jackie Chan participated in the project and will lead his own group to help develop the new resort.

"China culture should not only impact on Asia but also the rest of world including movie, cartoon and singing. We are here to support," Chan said.

It is planned that the resort will release 30 movies and 5,000 hours TV programmes every year, together with more than 3,000 students and 500,000 tourists once operational, according to Zhu Jinkun, a member of the Party committee in Hangzhou municipal government.
