Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Nominations

The final nominations list for the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Awards has been announced.

Jackie has a nomination for 'Best Actor' and Zhang Lan Xin has a 'Best Newcomer' nomination for Chinese Zodiac.

The film awards are being held in Lanzhou. This year the festival will feature 60 domestic Chinese films and 30 foreign films as well as a special Ethnic movie exhibition.

Good News For CZ12!!

Chinese Zodiac IS coming to a big screen near you!!

Jackie and JJ Productions has sold the distribution rights to CZ12 / Chinese Zodiac to Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE) for distribution in the US, UK, Eastern Europe, Africa, Australasia, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain.


AFM: Universal Takes Jackie Chan's 'Chinese Zodiac'

Jackie & JJ International has sold Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan's Chinese Zodiac to Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE) for a raft of territories including North America, UK and Eastern Europe.

The movie is directed by and stars Chan and opened in China in December 2012, and so far it has earned more than $180 million around the world.

UPIE has also acquired the globetrotting action film for Africa, Australasia, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Jackie & JJ also signed up with AMC for theatrical release.

"It has made more than $9 million in Russia, $5 million in Singapore, $6 million in Malaysia and $5 million in Japan, it's breaking records in Vietnam – it's doing better than Rush Hour," Jackie & JJ International's Ramy Choi told The Hollywood Reporter at the American Film Market.

Choi is attending the AFM to show them scenes from Chan's latest project, Police Story 2013, which is to be released on Dec. 24. The movie is directed by the Little Big Soldier director Ding Sheng and stars Chan, Liu Ye and Jing Tian.

"We pre-sold the movie in Berlin and Cannes without even a synopsis or a single photograph. Now we have something to show to European and U.S/ clients. They just want Jackie, he has a big fan base here," said Choi.

Chinese Zodiac premiered in North America at the AMC Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday 16 October 2013. Jackie was accompanied by Yao Xingtong and Laura Weissbecker. Rob Steinberg, Tzi Ma and Kaitlin Dechele were also present at the premiere.

On October 16 Jackie Chan will be in Los Angeles for red carpet appearance and to speak about the making of his movie “Chinese Zodiac”.

“Chinese Zodiac” is a Hong Kong-Chinese action film co-produced in 2012, written,directed by and starring Jackie Chan.

Film also stars Korean actor Kwon Sang-Wo and Chinese actors Liao Fan and Zhang Lanxin

Movie premier for “Chinese Zodiac” is to take place at 7:00 p.m. at the AMC Century City in Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles., before the film is set to be release in U.S. theaters on October 18.

A Great Review for CZ12

One of the very few reviews for CZ12 from some one who 'gets' it.


Closing in on 60 years of age, Jackie Chan sure doesn't look or move like a person at that age, especially in the 2012 Chan featured and directed film, "Chinese Zodiac," which is also referred to as "Amour Of God III." For those who don't know, the famous Chan film,"Operation Condor" was "Amour Of God II."

From the beginning of this action packed motion picture, until the end of the two hour film, the intensity is damn near non-stop, highlighted by a million and one moves by Chan himself. From full body roller-blading to fighting off rottweilers, couch fighting and sky diving next to a live volcano, Chan does it all, and some, as usual.

Based around his thieving character, "Asian Hawk" and his most recent mission to steal the remaining pieces of a bronze set of heads that symbolize animals of the Chinese Zodiac, he finds himself in a moral dilemma after the first heist of the mission and also when his fellow thieves find clues of many more treasures along with these heads.

The dialogue languages shifts from Mandarin, French and English, maybe more, which has become somewhat of a Chinese standard in film-making as of late, in an attempt to make movies as international as possible. In my opinion a great idea.

The acting was what one would expect from a Jackie Chan feature and I was very impressed by his directing skills, I was just waiting for him to break out in one of his own songs that he was once famous for. The comedic elements were Chan-perfection, especially with the pirates, keep your eyes on that sequence, and above all the locations were absolutely gorgeous.

All in all, a great action film, and the type that I miss from American films that were so prevalent in the 90s, but are all but forgotten in this new age of whatever it is. I look forward to more Jackie Chan directed motion pictures, and it goes without saying any with him in starring roles.

Jackie Rewards CZ12 Success in Malaysia
