Some additional photos of Jackie's visit to Thailand to deliver supplies and a donation from JCCF to an old age home and an orphanage. In addition he also supported the newly launched fundrasing inititive with Borkboon.com.

Today Jackie met with the Minister of Culture and heads of 30 different charitable foundations to donate a total amount of 6 million baht (about $190 000 US) as well as a large quantity of essential basic supplies. During his visit Jackie visited an old age home and an orphanage. Jackie explained that he lived in Thailand at age 9 and again at age 16. He said the he was cared for by a lot of people after he broke his leg doing Thai boxing and is happy to give back to Thailand.

You can view their page HERE and the list of charities HERE The site is in Thai and will need translating. How Borkboon.com works is to connect charities with donors and any one can donate. Donations amounts start at 1 Baht. They even have a mobile phone app - although it probably helps if you can speak Thai for that one.
The exciting news is that Jackie is stopping off in Bangkok this weekend to personally donate money raised so far to the charities.

Lin Peng represents JCCF in Thailand
As promised Lin Peng undertook a charity trip to Koh Samui, Thailand on New Year's day as an ambassador for Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation Beijing. She handed over donations, scholarships for deserving students and bags, T-shirts and other gifts.

Louis Tussaud is the great-grandson of the famous Madame Tussaud. There are four Louis Tussaud's wax museums around the world. The latest one opened recently in Pattaya, Thailand.
The experience at Pattaya is total sensory experience as each exhibit has accompanying music and smell. The wax figures have been created using a new process that incorporates glass fibre and silica gel into the wax to create a more realistic figure.

Actor Jackie Chan Reveals Charitable Side
Action star Jackie Chan is loved by fans worldwide for his movies, but he has a lesser known side: he is a socially committed philanthropist who firmly believes in giving back to society.
Chan recently visited the Human Development Foundation Mercy Center in Bangkok, Thailand, which consists of a shelter for orphans, an adult AIDS hospice and a preschool for needy students from the slums. He spent time with the children and even joined them in a dance performance.
The actor has established various charitable foundations, offers scholarships to help Hong Kong's youths, and provides medical services and aid to victims of natural disasters or illnesses.

Tuxedo Posters banned in Thailand
Here is an odd bit of news.
The posters for The Tuxedo which showed the sole of Jackie's foot were banned in Thailand because:
The original, because Thailand is a Buddhist country, the local censor officials believe that the people are extremely rude to show the soles, so replace the posters, the film company was receptive to do as the Romans do, decided to change the poster design.
