Jackie Reaches Out To Hong Kong Protesters

As you may know Hong Kong has been brought to a standstill by protests in recent weeks. Students are demanding further concessions from Beijing with regard the election and nomination of Hong Kong's chief executive and have taken to the streets in protest. Estimates place the loss of business at about 80% or approximately HK$350 billion [US$45 billion] which, to put it in perspective, is more than the losses incurred during the SARS outbreak.

Jackie reached out the protesters via Weibo on October 9th with this message:

看新聞得知這次香港的經濟損失高達3500億,真的很着急。我相信每一個香港人都愛香港,都希望香港好!香港美好的明天需要所有人的支持與努力,《國家》的歌詞裏說“没有强的國,哪有富的家”,我願意與大家一起努力,回歸理性,面對未來,愛我們的國家,愛我們的香港。

I found out through the news that Hong Kong’s economic losses reached HK$350 billion and I’m really worried…I believe every Hong Kong resident loves Hong Kong and wishes it well! Hong Kong’s bright tomorrow requires everyone’s support and hard work…In the song "Country," one line goes: "There is no prosperous home without a strong country." I am willing to work hard with everyone and return to rationality, to face the future, love our country, love our Hong Kong.

Jackie on Weibo: Dubbing and PSA's

APPROXIMATE TRANSLATION:

I am working in China more and more with many business interests, such as being busy buying a new office, but also with the JC Film Gallery, 'Old Lights' and 'Battle of Harmony' unveiling ceremony. The museum things were just completed, rushed to Kunming, Yunnan to shoot a public service ad to promote local tourism. Arrived in Kunming, and the next morning started immediately to shoot the scene. Because I was only there for one day, the director and the crew worked very hard and I'm very grateful to them. After shooting for the PSA was complete I immediately rushed to the next task, dubbing Police Story 2013.

MESSAGE FROM JACKIE ON WEIBO

Jackie posted this message on Weibo today:

Everyone knows that during the 70s and 80s,the gangs in Hongkong were really wild for a time. They used fierce methods to force the artists to make movies following their directions and I'm one of the actors who never gave in. Later I went to America and the triads followed after me.

They shot at the company where I was working. During that time I lived in Arizona, where everybody is allowed to carry a gun. I carried a gun with me to protect myself. What I was thinking is that if they do something to me, I will risk my life to strike back. This is the truth of the problem has attracted so much attention.

Because I'm a public person, what I say always causes misrepresentations and misunderstandings. Just like the problem at the premier of CZ12 (in Beijing). Our musical accompaniment had something wrong. We couldn't hear it when we stood on the stage and next day some people, on the internet, said that we lip-synched.

Expendables 3 has invited me, but actually I haven't make the final descision yet, but "I have signed up". Generally speaking, I'm a normal person with ordinary blood and ordinary muscle. I have feelings and I also have difficulties.

Today is not the last day of the earth, now as the Director I sincerely hope that you will go to the cinema to see this movie which is made with all of my painstaking care. I wish every audience could support good Chinese movies. Best wishes to you all.

SUNNY SKIES AND HARMONY

From Jackie on WEIBO:

爱死今天这样的天,白云、蓝天、微风、太阳……那种和谐带给我今天特别好的心情,要是我们地球上的人类都能像它们这样和平相处,那这个世界将会是多么和谐呢。

I love a sky like today.
White clouds, blue sky, gentle breeze, sun...
this harmony puts me in a really good mood.
If all the people on earth could peacefully co-exist like them,
how much harmony would there be on earth?

Intriguing Photo on Jackie's Weibo

I wonder what that is a model of and where they are?

At night, not many cars, not many people, best time to view ...
晚上,車不多,人不多的時候去看景是最好的。。。
