Railroad Tigers: New Poster

A new poster has been released for Railroad Tigers at the European Film Market in Berlin. The movie has a tentative release date for October 2016.

Synopsis of Railroad Tigers:

In December 1941, Japan expands the occupation of neighbouring countries to Southeast Asia. The railway from Tianjin to Nanjing in East China becomes a key military transportation route, heavily guarded by Japanese soldiers. Railroad worker Ma Yuan (Jackie Chan) leads a team of freedom fighters. Using his intimate knowledge of the train networks, he and his men sabotage it, ambushing Japanese soldiers and stealing supplies to feed the starving Chinese. Although the freedom fighters have no weapons of their own, they employ whatever tools are at hand, including shovels, loose railway track planks and diverted trains. The local Chinese call the unlikely heroes the "Railroad Tigers". The freedom fighters find themselves on the wrong side of the tracks when the Japanese send reinforcements to Shandong. In an act of defiance, Ma Yuan launches his most dangerous mission yet, blowing up a heavily-guarded railroad bridge. When the Japanese learn about the plan, which will derail the war effort, the stakes are raised even higher.

Save the Irrawaddy Dolphin

Jackie made a video to help save the Irrawaddy Dolphin. Please help get the message out by forwarding links to this post or the video.

Short (8 minute) Video about the Irrawady Dolphins:

Jackie Chan, in support of effort to save the endangered Irrawaddy Dolphin in Myanmar from lawless electro-fishing, made a short film to plead for the stopping of such illegal activities. The iconic action star is very popular in the country and thus his calling can be very effective. The film launched in Myanmar beginning April 1, 2015 through social media and is organized by the Hong Kong based China Exploration & Research

WORLD-famous actor Jackie Chan has called on Myanmar to save the endangered Irrawaddy dolphin and to stop electro-fishing in a video posted to the Irrawaddy River Conservation Commission website.

In the video, Mr Chan says: "Please you must help me to stop electro-fishing, and you must all protect the Irrawaddy dolphin Give the baby dolphin a chance to live like all the children of the world."

He said he also hopes to visit Myanmar and see the Irrawaddy dolphin one day.

Surveys by the commission over the last five years have shown that the number of dolphins living in the river between Mandalay and Bhamo is declining.

"The survey is conducted every year. The dolphins are mainly living in the river course between Mandalay and Bhamo. According to our statistics, there has been a gradual decrease in the number of dolphins," said Han Win, the director of the Irrawaddy River Conservation Commission.

"We study the number of dolphins living between Mandalay and Bhamo along the Irrawaddy River, dividing it into three sections. The number of dolphins decreased mostly near Bhamo. In 2010, we found 15 to 16 dolphins near Bhamo. Now we see about eight there. About 10 dolphins are missing near Katha, Shwegu and Htigyaing," Han Win said.

The survey showed that there were 73 dolphins in 2010, 72 in 2011, 67 in 2012, 51 in 2013, 63 in 2014 and 58 in 2015.

One of the main challenges to conservation tasks for the dolphins is the use of electro-fishing techniques in the Irrawaddy River.

"In the past, electro-fishing was only done at night, but now it is done all day due to the lack of effective actions against the fishermen," Han Win added.

Fishing nets and waste disposal in the river also pose serious threats to Myanmar's Irrawaddy dolphins.

This is the stage we’re at on our latest film project, The Foreigner, starring Jackie Chan, which has recently moved into production, shooting around London locations. There have been a lot of loud bangs reverberating around our backlot recently - all in preparation for some pretty impressive pyro effects we're providing for the film. I don’t know what this guy’s role was in it all, but I can’t help but assume that he met a rather nasty end…

Jackie was filming this scene when he took a break from filming and dropped into a nearby pub:

Kung Fu king Jackie Chan put down his nunchucks and last week tried his hand at darts in a Walworth pub, writes Sean Morrison…

The martial arts mega star popped into The Good Intent in East Street as he was filming near the pub.

Vince McDonald, the pub landlady’s husband, was shocked when the martial arts film star walked into the pub and waved him over for a match.

Vince was impressed with the globally known film star’s throwing arm, but was convinced he would have beaten him in a competitive match.

He said: “He could throw a treble twenty, I’ll put it that way, but I think I could have beaten him. “I just didn’t want him to chop me, so I went a little bit easy on him.”

The 45-year-old gave the globally known film star his personal Tottenham Hotspur set of darts, along with an orange juice, before he was called over for a round in The Good Intent.

Chan reportedly said he would love to come back, and complemented the owner on the pub. Nobody seemed star-struck and it felt like business as usual, according to pub landlady, Wendy McDonald, 42, when the martial arts mega star arrived about 10:30am last Thursday.

“No one caused a fuss, which is one reason why he probably felt so comfortable being in here,” she said. “It was a huge shock though, of course, and everyone hasn’t stopped talking about it since.”

Filming for The Foreigner, which stars Chan and Pierce Brosnan, was taking place in East Street, near the pub – where the Hong Kong actor and stuntman was spotted in an imported telephone box.
